President Ilham Aliyev inquired about the progress of works at the Gabala city mosque being constructed on the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s initiative

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev familiarized himself with final completion works on construction of a new building for the Gabala city mosque, September 10. 

 

The Head of our state viewed a photo-stand reflecting the final appearance of the mosque after its completion.

 

It was informed that the previous small building of the mosque had fallen into total disrepair. Construction of the mosque started in march 2011, and, to this end, 800 sq.m. land plot has been allocated.

 

Some 800 people at a time will be able to pray in a mosque being constructed on the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s initiative. Construction of the two-storied main building of the mosque, including entrance stairs, foot-bridge  and 21.6-meter-high minarets has been completed. In order to ensure soundness of the minarets, 10-meter-deep foundation reinforcement works have been done. Currently, interior works are about to be completed.

 

It was brought to attention that final completion works are carried out in a domestic service building on the territory of the mosque. A library, a hall for ceremonies, points for “destnamaz” and other rooms will function here.
